One of the things about working with the park system here in our state is the fact that you just never really know what’s going to come up. I actually like that about my job most of the time. It doesn’t ever really get boring because there is always something new and different every day. I am in charge of about two hundred acres of park land and one of the things that I have to do on a regular basis is take my ATV all around to make sure that all of our fencing is holding up and that it isn’t damaged or falling down from regular wear and tear of wildlife or because of the weather. Around here, we have a lot of severe weather and sometimes the fencing gets damaged when trees fall down because of wind or ice. I really like being outdoors, and riding the fences is one of my favorite parts of the job. However, if I did not have my double loop ties to use on the job, I would never be able to get anything done at all. We have these stainless steel double loop wire ties that we use to tie up fences whenever they are falling down and these things are invaluable to my job. Without them, I think I would be spending all of my time trying to cut wire and fit it back to fence posts just to make sure that they are working correctly. The stainless steel double loop wire ties that we keep as part of our supplies are really quick and easy to use. Plus, they are the perfect gauge and length to do the jobs that we need them to do.

What are hangers made out?
I remembered trying to use one mom’s old wire hangers to make a halo for my daughter in the Christmas pageant.
I remembered the old wire hangers my mom hung our clothes on. They always left the worst marks in my sweaters. She also had black wire frames to put my father’s pants on. While drying, the pants would have a crease in the middle of the legs that went all the way to the waist. It was a great use of wire, but I wondered what kind of wire it was. I was always a curious child, and I was even more curious as I got older. I loved to learn new things, especially how things are made and where words came from. When I learned hangers are made of black annealed rod wire, and I wanted to know what it is. The black annealed wire is made of low carbon steel wire rod material. It is finished with oil to avoid it becoming rusty. Through the process of annealing, iron wire is soft for processing and baling uses. It has high strength and good stretching resistance. I remembered trying to use one mom’s old wire hangers to make a halo for my daughter in the Christmas pageant. No matter how much I tried to change the shape, I couldn’t quite get it to go into a perfect circle. My daughter’s halo was more of a diamond shape, but it was easy to form. When looking at the wire hanger, I didn’t think it was as necessary to find out what they made it from, as it was to figure out how to change how it looked in its hanger form. Although my daughter didn’t mind the ill-formed halo, our minister looked at it oddly.
He specifically said it had to be 16 gauge black annealed bar wire.
I bought ten rolls of 16 gauge black annealed bar wire and took it to where my husband was working
My husband and his brother own a tree trimming business. I never thought much about what they do with the limbs and branches they cut down. I thought they put them through the wood chipper, but I was wrong. Last week, he asked me to go to a local store that specialized in wire. He specifically said that the wire I was to purchase had to be 16 gauge black annealed bar wire. He said 16 gauge three times. I remembered 16 gauge even after I got to the car, but I forgot the rest. I went back in the house and asked him to write it down. He write 16 gauge black annealed bar wire. He was going to use it in the machine that bundled up the brunches. I got to the store he told me to go to. I handed them the paper with a 16 gauge black annealed bar wire written on it. He looked at me. I looked at him. He then asked how big a roll I needed. I smiled and said a big one. He showed me a 330 foot roll that looked kind of small, but I figured it was what my husband wanted. He told me the price for one, but then he said I could get rolls and it would be almost 30% less. I bought ten rolls of 16 gauge black annealed bar wire and took it to where my husband was working. I asked him if it was what he wanted, and he thanked me. I told him I got a great deal and bought ten rolls. All I could hear was his brother laughing as I got back into the car.
