Last week I had the worst experience ever when I was at the local hardware store looking for some rebar wire ties.
I was working on a big fencing project and I needed more rebar wire ties. I had been using 14 gauge double loop wire ties, and I wanted some more just like them. I was willing to settle for 16 gauge double loop wire ties if I couldn’t find the 14 gauge ones, but I needed them right away because I was on a time schedule. I had taken off from work for two days to get my project done and I did not have any time to waste. I wasn’t going to be able to take any more time off from work and I didn’t want to leave everything unfinished if I didn’t have to. So I jumped in the truck and I ran down to the hardware store to get some more wire ties. The people who worked in the store didn’t even know where to direct me for something like double loop wire ties. I honestly don’t think that the employees at the store had ever even heard of them before. Four different people were going up and down the aisles trying to find the wire ties. It was a good thing that I had taken one with me to show to them or they never would have found them! Finally, about 25 minutes later they found something that was similar. Even though they did not have 14 gauge rebar wire ties like I wanted, they did have some 18 gauge wire ties. I couldn’t believe that it took them so long to find them! I am ordering online from now on.

I work at a hardware store downtown and yesterday was the worst day that I have ever had at work.
I felt like an idiot so many times yesterday that I just wanted to leave and go home! I almost told my boss that I was sick because I just had such a bad day.
The worst part of the day was when this guy came in and started asking me if we had something called rebar wire ties. I have never even heard of rebar wire ties before, and I work in the paint department. I don’t know why he was asking me for the rebar wire ties because mainly I just focus on mixing paint and selling paint brushes every single time that I’m at work. But since I am an employee of the store, I tried to help him so I took him to the department where I thought the rebar wire ties would be. However, they were not there and the guy in the other department didn’t know what they were either. We started looking all over the store for these things, and nobody even knew what they were. The customer had one rebar wire tie with him in his pocket, and he pulled it out and showed us what a 14 gauge double loop rebar tie looks like. Once he finally showed it to us, we figured out that it was something that would be in our construction department. I’m not sure why he did not just show it to us in the first place. I think he just wanted to see if we knew what we were doing, which we obviously did not.

My brothers and I run a construction company and we used to do all of our building materials supply ordering in person.
We actually used to go down to the construction materials warehouse and purchase everything that we needed right there on the site, load it all up in our trucks, and head out to whichever job sites we happened to be working on at the time. These days, we don’t do things quite the same way anymore. It saves us a lot of time when we can order some of our construction products online. When you think about it, it’s really a genius way to do things. When we are able to order our construction products online, it keeps us from having to drive all the way down to the warehouse, and it saves us time on ordering, paying, and loading. I especially love it when we are able to have things shipped directly to the job sites. We have recently started ordering construction materials from a metal supplier company and they are great about shipping directly to our job sites. We order all of our rebar wire ties from them. We use lots of rebar wire ties in our construction jobs, especially when we are pouring concrete for footers and for the foundations of our buildings. We usually order 18 gauge double loop rebar ties from them in quantities of 5000. They come with 5000 in a bag, and usually we order 10,000 at a time. That usually lasts us for a while, unless we are in a really busy season.

However, all of them are certified domestic and they are all American made wire ties
When you are an ironworker like I am, your whole life at work is about tying rebar. Well, that, and joking around with your co-workers. That’s what I do all day. I work on construction sites and I have a crew who works with me. Most of the time, it is a really great job and I actually enjoy it. It’s nice to work hard on something and then see it get completed. I could never do a job like working at the post office because the work never ends. But when you are tying rebar, you know that eventually, the foundation of the building is going to get laid and the building is going to go up. Seeing that finished product is very rewarding and I never get tired of it. Anyway, as an ironworker, I use thousands and thousands of American made double loop wire ties in my job. We tend to use 16 gauge double loop rebar ties most of the time, but it really depends on the job that we are doing. Sometimes we use 14 gauge double loop rebar ties, and once in a while we use 18 gauge double loop rebar ties. However, all of them are certified domestic and they are all American made wire ties. Whenever I started working as an ironworker many years ago, I never thought that I would be using so many double loop rebar wire ties! I’ve probably used well over a million of them in my 15 year career as an ironworker. I’ve certainly tied more rebar than I ever thought I would.
